India won the silver medal in the mixed 4x400m relay, with the quartet of Vishal TK, Poovamma Raju, Manu TS and Vithya Ramraj finishing second. The medal is India’s 17th at the Asian Games 2026.
Vishal TK started the race for India but struggled to make an early impact, while Poovamma Raju also began cautiously after taking over the baton. With India in danger of slipping out of contention, Poovamma produced a stunning burst over the final 50m of her leg to hand the baton to Manu in third place.
Manu maintained the pace and kept India in medal contention before handing over to Vithya Ramraj, who then produced a superb final leg to surge through the field to secure silver for India.
